If you’re reading and listening and not sure what to do, please keep reading and listening *and* commit to taking action. This convo is anything but new, the work is ongoing, and change requires our imperfect yet INFORMED engagement and participation. (I emphasize informed bc I get that there can be a temptation to jump in and react without considering impact, but those reactions can easily harm more than they help.)
There’s no shortage of links and resources available online; please don’t let that overwhelm you or keep you from diving in. Here are three starting points for you to shift into more awareness + action today:
READ: So You Want to Talk About Race by @ijeomaoluo
WRITE: For unpacking bias, make time for expressive writing prompts by @leesareneehall – she’s got a highlight linking to a blog post with a super-powerful starting point, and her Patroen is full of treasure maps for self-discovery.
LEARN: @trudilebron has created a generous opp for all who are committed to creating safer spaces, reducing harm, and being part of the solution. Limited replay will be available, so now’s the time to sign up!

Start with your heart, then your home as @cleowade and @ohhappydani have so powerfully illustrated here. Listen to and amplify the voices of our Black friends, colleagues, and neighbors. Donate. Work with diversity, equity, and inclusion pros like Trudi.
We will eff this up and mess up and say awkward things that could’ve been better. For SURE. Change and growth come from discomfort and at this point – it’s pretty clear we’re being called to GROW. Together.
Let’s keep our minds + hearts open to learning and growing, friends. It’s the only way forward. ❤️
