re: surveying your audience to find out what they want + need from you (AS IT RELATES to what you love + feel 100% qualified to give):
First, I highly recommend you GET ON A CALL + TALK (LISTEN) TO HUMANS. Especially past dream clients if you’ve got ’em. (I’ve been doing that today as I create what’s next and it’s so fun. ❤️)
If you wanna do it online, howev, here’s some insight:
At the time I shared this Typeform I already had an audience (3 years into biz), naturally drawing mamas to me since I started my biz with a toddler in tow, added another to the mix three years later.
I created a landing page with this as the TY page / link in the welcome email and encouraged them to share their stories with me to help shape what I’d create next.
I shared it on my FB page and with my list and like I said the response was whoa. Even though it’s SUPER long and involved! ha
Ended up with over 500 responses.
If there hadn’t been such a big / quick response, I would’ve made sure they had an incentive and could see the benefit in taking time to share their stories with me.
Lots of people will get clarity based on the quality of Qs you ask, and that’s a win in itself!
But you could also offer a bonus video or PDF or even a consult if you do that / makes sense for your strategy.
Ex. When I first started my biz I had a similar survey around my 1:1 sessions. I said I was gonna do 10 free 1:1 sessions and the surveys would help me decide who the best fits were (and if they weren’t selected I’d be happy to answer their Q on my FB page).
I ended up getting 36 replies (it was so exciting!) and ended up doing 24 free sessions, got testimonials from almost all of them.
The next month biz exploded with paying clients 😛
